Crafted in the early 20th century, this antique oak tray bears the logo of St Dunstan's hospital on each handle and is believed to have been used there in its previous life.
St Dunstan's Hostel for blind soldiers and sailors was founded in 1914 by Arthur Pearson, author of Victory over Blindness. The idea was to provide a hostel where ex-servicemen would go after receiving medical treatment to, essentially, "learn to be blind".
This is an object crafted with meticulous attention to detail and the quality we have come to associate with bygone eras. It's a piece that offers ritual and importance to tea and coffee, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the moment.
Approximate dimensions: 41cm wide x 30cm deep
Please note this is a vintage / preloved item and as such will feature small imperfections, all of which are inherent to its charm and character. Evidence of historic woodworm to underside which has been treated in-house, and is not active.
