The Heart Behind the Homeware
Hello, you.
I’m Lizzee, the heart behind the homeware at Forage & Folk. I spend most of my time merrily trooping across the country at ungodly hours in search of beautiful things, and much of the rest of it behind a camera, styling and shooting the pieces and preparing them to be chosen by their new custodians.
I live in Leicestershire with my husband and our smelly little Boston Terrier, Dalton. I've recently discovered the joy of gardening, and when I'm not truffling for treasures, I can be found up to my elbows in mud, trying to rescue our long abandoned back yard!
If you were to ask me why I love vintage homewares so blimmin’ much, I’d borrow my answer from Thomas Hardy - “beauty lay not in the thing, but what the thing symbolised”.
Old things often evoke a nostalgia deep within that can foster connections to people, places and events long passed. When we invite these objects into our homes, we are allowing ourselves the joy of keeping those special memories front and centre. We make a statement about what, and who, is important to us.
